Where to send it – http://www.anysoldier.com/WhereToSend/Start.cfm

This list is compiled by me after reading requests:

    LETTERS

  • calling cards (https://thor.aafes.com/scs/default.aspx)
  • bathroom, hygiene products, wipes, foot powder (including things that smell good for the ladies 🙂
  • coffee (including flavored), hot/chocolate
  • notebooks, paper, envelopes, pens, blank cards
“Cards for sending home are in very short supply. Anniversary, holiday, and birthday cards would be very welcome. This way we could keep in touch with our families and friends.”
  • sport drink powders
  • candy, healthy snacks
“Jerky is a favorite as well as Campbell’s Soup to-go. Any kind of healthy snack or Protien bars would also be greatly appricated. Ramen noodles. Apple cinnamon oatmeal (cooks well in the summer in a water bottle in a humvee.”
  • DVDs (sitcoms)
  • books, magazines, comic books (you can check out BooksForSoldiers.com, too)
  • puzzles, paint by numbers, games, sports equipment, cards
“Other stuff we liked were sports equipment, we usually did not have enough room to bring it over here when we first deployed and it is always fun to toss a baseball or football.”
  • beanie babies (for local children)

*keep in mind there are men and women serving – each have some different needs
